What is HMS/Joint Hypermobillity Syndrome ? And my story
*Ukulele sound* I'm taking these off cause other wise everything is all muffally and I can't tell if I'm screaming or not and then people might come up stairs and be like why are you screaming any ways, that was not relevant why is my hair purple, magic fairies in my sleep anyways. I'm making this video about Hypermobility syndrome well Joint Hypermobillity Syndrome cause they changed it and you know that just it was unnecessary cause da this there ok I explained it the end no. Not for real cause I can't make contortion videos and I wanna make contortion videos so I might as well make videos about why I can't make videos about contortion. What is hypermobility syndrome? It's when your joints bend to much and I'm not saying like oh people who do contortion that's bad but if you do contortion and then you are fine and just bend really far and it doesn't even hurt then that's ok cause you're streching your muscles so hypermobility syndrome is like this is a normal person bend ing their hand this is me bend my hand basically have faulty collagen the collagen in my joints like it streched to much, it's in my tendons when other people strech their streching their muscle and their muscle get tight and my muscle no matter how tight they get I can still stretch But my tendons and then it goes really far so then my muscles get tighter and tighter and tighter I'm still Just as flexible like I can still do this after not stretching for months and you might think oh that's really fun I wish I could have that no don't freak out if you can do that because it isn't Hypermobility syndrome unless it becomes a problem imagine this is your joint and this is one of your tendons your joint has more tendons then this but right now we're just gonna use one it goes like this like when you walk and it bends and it they stay fairly close together mine go like this sort of this is a very crude explanation of it but that's pretty much what it does as you can imagine that's not super comfortable sometimes people with Hypermobillity syndrome get subluxations or dislocations cause their hypermobility syndrome has progressed to a point when their tendons are so Loose that there joint has trouble staying in place a subluxation is when it's like this it didn't come out of its socket all the way just part of the way and a dislocation is like it came all the way out of the socket, don't do that like if you just fell really hard and your joint poped out of its socket you might not want to put it back in you might hurt it if you don't know how to do i, also you might not, we wil, get to that later, if you get hypermobillity syndrome don't worry you don't catch it it's not contagious, it's usually genetic but you might get it cast your jeans just mutated, or you can have something else that causes you to have hypermobility like the reason that I probably have it is POTS I'll put it o. The screen! Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, it can effect your whole body not just part of it but some people with POtS have hypermobility syndrome, but some don't I can make a video about POTS comment if you want me to make one but I probably will anyway and you'll see so you have to subscribe otherwise you'll never know. And also You also might have hypermobility syndrome if you have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which I don't have probably people with Elers - Danlos syndrome can have hypermobillity syndrome sensitive skin and there is stuff in the heart and the digestive system and they also might have pots I don't know a lot about it cause I don't have it well I don't know that for sure but I most likely don't have it so maybe I'll but some people in the description who made videos about it. You are probably wondering "what is it like to have hypermobillity syndrome?" Well your joints hurt all the time and you can't strech cause that makes it worse and SUPRISE pain killers don't work like ibuprofen for me it helps and then it just like it's done after like it makes the swelling go down then it just hurts here is my story of hypermobility syndrome: the first well I'll start with what my ssymtoms were when they first started and I was like really little like five if you are five and you are watching this why are you on YouTube by your self? Anyways my joints like my knees would go like *ergh* it's kinda hard to explain but then they would hurt sort of and be kind of like numb in the joint and then I would have to like move it and like kinda feel like it popped back in it was probly subluxation But I didn't know that and I didn't tell anybody just ignored it and eventually the muscles around my knee got stronger and went back in which is why physical therapy helps if you have it, and then after that I did like ️circus and stuff, and I used to do ballet and flexibility allways came way easier to me then everyone else in my class and I was like ok that's cool except one time my hip got hurt really badly and I was like oh well whatever Idk what it is so I didn't go to the doctor yet this was when I was like 9 or10. And then it just kinda got like worse but it wasn't like that bad I thought my joints are just sore then after that I was doing ️circus and that was when like I started to have POTS Postural Orthostatic Tachyacardia syndrome which we learned about before and so I was tired and sore after I did ️circus and it was just like oh well maybe IDK so or corse I went to the doctor for that and they were like oh your crazy but I wasn't crazy and I wasn't faking it they thought I was faking it but I wasn't and then after that I got diagnosed with POtS and after that I also got sent to an Ortho my joints checked out cause I had hypermobility syndrome but cause I diagnosed my self first which is why I wanna make this video cause I didn't know about it doctors don't really fully check if everything about you is ok also that happened with athsma i diagnosed my self with athsma before and I knew that I had It.
And before my diagnoses I decided to take contortion and it was horribly painfull and not fun but it was fun kinda except for all the pain and then I got diagnosed with it and I couldn't do contortion cause it was gonna damage my joints and I also took Acro but I couldn't do that cause if I land I could get hurt for like weeks when somebody else would just get hurt for a couple of days and then if sombody else was gonna get hurt for like a couple week from an injury if I got that same injury I would be hurt for months and that would be HORRIBE so I had to quit that but the doctor didn't say you have to quit she just said well oh your just gonna damage your joints and be in excushiating pain and I didn't want to be in excrushiationg pain so I didn't do that, DISCLAIMER I'm not a doctor so if you think you might have any of these Conshions in this video you should go to the doctor and then don't like get hurt and be like oh this girl made a video now I'm gonna sue her so calm down if you know anything about it of have anything about it just comment the stuff in the comment place where ever it is when people male videos they always point here but it's actually here when you on an iPad and you don't have a lap top so yeah. I'll also put links of good videos to watch about stuff just look in the description. Also, remember, stay strange.
