Stop Toe Cramps & Foot Cramps - Ask Doctor Jo
This little piggy went to the market. This little piggy stayed home. (Surprised look) Hey everybody, it's Dr. Jo! I got an email from Michael, and he was having a lot of foot and toe cramping. So today, I'm going to show you some exercises and stretches for your little piggies, I mean your toes and feet.
Let's get started. So these stretches and exercises are very simple. All you need is a towel, some rubber bands, if you have marbles, marbles work great at home. But if you don't do a great job at picking things up or moving stuff around with your toes, don't get frustrated. I can't do a very good job with it, I'm not like my brother, growing up, he used to pinch me with his toes all the time.
Hmm. Some of you guys might be able to do that. I can't do that. The first thing you wanna do is just, one at a time, take the rubber bands, try and pick them up, and slowly move over. Now this isn't a race, don't try to grab them all. We are not seeing how fast we can do it, we are trying to get those toes curling and moving. So just going through one at a time. Oh, I got two.
That's okay. Try and shake them off, curl them up, take it over. Just like that. Try and get that stretch and movement i your toes. Like I said, you might not be able to pick them up.
That's okay. It's the motion of doing it. Then you want to take the towel. Put your foot on the towel, and start curling your toes, trying to grab the towel. Like I said, I can't do it very well, some of you can. You can take the edge if you actually want to accomplish something, and curl it up. Of you can just work on the edges. Once you get it rolled up a little bit, it's a little bit easier.
Then after that, do that for about 30 seconds. Take a break so your feet don't cramp up on you. Then you want to fold up the towel, lay it down, put your foot in, grab the top because you want your toes to bend.
Just your toes, not your whole foot, and pull it up. So if you can see here, it's just my toes bending up, and hold that for 30 seconds, how many times? 3 times. And there you have it! So hopefully these stretches and exercises will help you become a toe pinching master, or at least get rid of some of that cramping in your feet and toes.
