RockTape - Kinesiology Tape Instruction - Gamer's Thumb
Here we’ll detail the steps on applying RockTape Kinesiology Tape for De Quervains. This application can reduce pain and provide support to the thumb side of the wrist. This can also help Gamer's Thumb. Start with 1 inch wide tape and measure from the knuckle of the thumb to just above the wrist. With our standard 2” tape, measure a second strip around the wrist leaving a half inch between the ends. Round the tape’s corners to avoid catching on gear or clothing.
Stretch the skin by angling the hand down and reach thumb to palm at the base of the pinky. With the 1 inch tape, tear an end then anchor to the knuckle of the thumb. Pull away the release paper applying the tape over thumb and wrist with no added stretch. For the second strip, tear the center of the release paper to expose the adhesive. With slight stretch, apply over the outside edge of the palm perpendicular to the first strip. Lay down the ends with no stretch, then rub to activate the adhesive. Thanks for watching!
