Men With Curved Penises May Have Higher Risk of Cancer
Forget about size mattering ― the important thing might be shape. New research suggests men with a condition called Peyronie's disease are at higher risk of developing cancer than men who have straight-shooters. Peyronie's disease is also known as penile fibrosis.
In simple terms, it means a penis that curves when erect. It's caused by a buildup of scar tissue that can make erections painful and even render sex off-limits to sufferers. Scientists at Baylor College of Medicine recently presented their findings at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Based on data on 1.5 million men, they suggest men with penile fibrosis have a 40 percent higher risk of testicular cancer and stomach cancer and a 29 percent higher risk of skin cancer. It's unclear just how common curved members are among men but researchers say men with Peyronie's disease should take the issue seriously and talk to a doctor.
