Hello, I’m Michael Frey and I’m an oral and maxillofacial surgeon here at Greater Michigan Oral Surgeons and Dental Implant Center. I was born in Flint and have lived in the Flint area for most of my life. I am very happy to be practicing in my “hometown.” When I first started practicing oral surgery, my goals were to offer the best care possible and to ensure that each and every patient was treated like family.

It’s natural to feel nervous about undergoing oral surgery and I want to assure our patients that they will have a great experience. My staff and I strive to make our patients feel comfortable in our offices, to provide them with personalized treatment, and to alleviate any concerns each may have about their upcoming procedure. Now, after 26 years of practice, my goals remains the same- to treat each patient like he or she is part of my family and to provide the best care possible. After graduating from Grand Blanc High School and attending the University of Michigan as an undergraduate, I received my Dental Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I also completed a 1-year General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Ohio, and a 3-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Detroit Medical Center.

During both of these residencies, I gained extensive hands-on training in surgery and treatment of oral and facial defects, disease, and trauma. I also completed extensive training in anesthesia and IV sedation delivery and management. Following my training, I returned here to my hometown and began seeing patients in this practice.

Oral surgery provides me the opportunity to combine my skills in surgery and anesthesia so that I can provide timely and effective treatment for my patients. Most people come to us because they are experiencing pain, discomfort, or worry about an existing problem and I find it extremely rewarding to have them leave our offices having had a great oral surgery experience.
