Saeed: My guest at the Shabbat dinner, Ed Weidenfeld, grows cannabis legally in Washington, D.C. So I'm meeting up with him and his son, Nick, at WonderBrett Farms to talk about the wonders of cannabis cultivation. How did you get into actually cultivating cannabis? Our place started out looking for cannabis for me because I was diagnosed with a condition called Parkinson's. When I asked my neurologist, he said he was skeptical about cannabis, but wouldn't object to it if I could find the source that was pharmaceutical-grade, free of toxins. Right.
Well, the only way to do that with assurance that you know what you're getting is to grow it yourself. And we got a license from the District of Columbia. And now I have found the wonders of cannabis that you so eloquently act as a principal spokesman for. Thank you so much, and I really do believe in the healing power of cannabis. And, you know, I feel like -- I just want more people to know about it.
Also, the craziest thing just to say to me outside of the fact that this guy's my dad, is that he was a lawyer. I think especially with Parkinson's, you know, to have, at 70-something years old, an opportunity to, like, redesign your whole life is nuts. I mean, that's a lot of -- It takes a lot of chutzpah, right? [ Laughs ] You got to be willing to turn a lemon into lemonade. I can now speak for myself and say, "This is a basic human right and liberty." I'm so excited to have you guys and the rest of your family over for dinner. I think it's gonna be really fun. It's gonna be insane.
We're looking forward. You gonna do some dabs with me? You know it. Yeah.
