Can Gynecomastia Come Back After Surgery? | Male Breast Reduction
Hi I'm Dr. Frank Lista and welcome to the recovery room at The Plastic Surgery Clinic, which is a state-of-the-art recovery room with expert nursing care, all of the latest in monitoring equipment, and probably the most beautiful recovery room in the city. Anyways, today I want to talk a little bit about gynecomastia. So one of the common questions we get about gynecomastia surgery is can it come back? And I guess the answer to that is sure, it's possible that it could come back but it's extremely rare. One of the only reasons why gynecomastia would come back is a.) if you gain weight that can cause the fat to come back, or b.) if those things that cause gynecomastia continue. And the most common reasons are use of marijuana and anabolic steroids. But if you don't use those products and you don't gain weight, it's possible that your gynecomastia could come back, but it's extremely rare. Most patients get a great result that lasts their whole lives, and it changes their lives.
