Where is the accurate location of the femoral head? Actually, a few guests were very accurate. There were two guests that were rather far off. The heel obviously isn`t where it is. Even knows that there are the knees but there were a few guests who pointed to the front, and to the back, and they are all right.

It`s actually where the torso meet the thigh. So pointing from the front is right and from the rear is right, because it`s in the middle between the torso and the legs. Anyone who pointed in this area is right. Alright, take a seat. We now know where the femoral head is. Next, let`s us our two specialists to tell us about the role that femoral head plays in the body. Femoral head if everyone takes a look at the screen, is an important component in the hip joint.

The round part is the femoral head, and that bowl shaped area the acetabulum. The head of the femoral head plus the acetabulum forms what we the hip joint. When we refer to these joints, everyone knows that they help with movement. If the joint can not move, then it can not be called a joint. Even if the smallest joint in your hand can not move any longer, you won`t be able to grab things. If the hip joint wasn`t mobile, you would have limited walking ablility. So what the femoral head mainly does is form the hip joint, which is the most important part that allows the body to move.

Secondly, if we look at that location, the hip joint is where the torso connects to the legs. So another important role that it places is in bearing weight. When you are walking, half of the time one leg and your entire torso will put pressure on just one femoral head. We walk like this. When you step on your left leg, the weight of your entire torso and your right leg presses on your femoral head.

It support our body and bear our weight. If the femoral head is damaged the consequence is that we can`t walk or run as we want to.
