Atonic-astatic cerebral palsy, Islana, parent training
Islana has congenital hyperinsulinism, i.e. The child has a low level of blood sugar. On the fifth day, the daughter fell into coma because of low sugar. We did not know that Islana has this disease and treated for other illness for a month and a half.
The child has atrophy of frontal lobes and now she is diagnosed with atonic-astatic cerebral palsy. What can and cannot Islana do? She is at the age of 1 year and 7 months, can sit, but not able to stay in this position for a long time because of weak back muscles, and quickly becomes tired. She can sit for about 10 minutes, this is her maximum.
Then she starts to hump, cry, evidently experiencing discomfort, I think, in this place. She can stand up on her legs, but only with the support of her hands. She can raise her right leg, but the left one in a bad way.
