ALS Liquid Nitrogen "Ice Bucket Challenge" (Ft. Muhammad Qureshi)
Hi, I'm Moe Qureshi And I'm here at the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus And I'm going to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. I'm collaborating with my good friend NurdRage on this. And NurdRage and myself have personaly donated a hundred dollars to the cause. But we've decided to do this demonstration anyway for you for science. But instead of using ice water, we're going to be using liquid nitrogen.
Liquid nitrogen boils at negative 196 degrees Celsius, so it's much, much colder than ice water. We must advise do not try this at home, because this is extremely dangerous and not safe. But we're going to this anyway because i have support and backup with me. So here i have my Dewar, I'm going to grab my liquid nitrogen. It's extremely, extremely cold. So a lot are saying that since this is very dangerous, won't i freeze, won't i get frostbite. Well thankfully there is something called the Leidenfrost effect, which will save me. If you want to learn more about the Leidenfrost effect click this link here.
So now i'm going to do the challenge. Here, you can already see as the liquid nitrogen is boiling off. Alright Don't forget to subscribe and donate. So here I am, I'm shuffling, and I'm moving my shirt and my hair all around. Because since liquid nitrogen is so, so very cold, i don't want it to get stuck anywhere and freeze me. Okay. I gotta be honest, this is much, much colder than ice water. But, nonetheless, it was really cool.
Thank you very much, please subscribe and donate!.
