A Late Night Update
Hey guys. My name is Jaleesa and I'm back for another video. I'm really sorry (fidget) about the lighting and that I'm talking, like, sort of in a low voice, but I'm filming at..
I think it's like 3:00 in the morning (fidget). I just wanted to do a sort of late night update because I'm really hyper right now (fidget) and I don't know when I'm going to get the energy to film again. (fidget) I just wanted to do a little bit of an update and explain why things have been a little bit slow on my channel for, like, the past few weeks or whatever. So, basically, what's been going on for the past like....ooh month, month and a half. I don't really have a sense of time, so I don't know, but yeah. About the past month, my fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome flared up and towards the end of that flare is when I made the video about fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which I'll link in the description. And it totally threw me off. It's like I sort of recovered from the flare up (fidget), but I never really got over it, so I've just been really tired lately and my sleep (sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep) schedule.
Gosh, um... My sleep schedule's been very thrown off. I'm pretty much nocturnal right now (fidget), which is why I'm making a video at 3:00 in the morning because I'm not awake during the day and usually when I am awake, I'm super tired and I'm having loads of stomach problems (Fiji), loads of brain fog and I just don't feel very well during the day lately or just in general. So, I haven't been that awake, I guess, to make a video. Actually, I don't know why I'm talking in such a quiet voice because my tics are super loud (frigid), but I kind of feel like I should because my family is trying to sleep.
Speaking of my tics, they've been kind of weird lately (frigid). A lot of the times, they're actually- they've actually been getting better. I've been using a lot of the techniques that they taught me in Habit Reversal Therapy, which I think I'm going to explain in another video because if I did in this one, it'd be super long (fidget).
But the Habit Reversal Therapy-... I'm not in it at the moment, but I'm still using the techniques and they have been helping even though I'm still like really severe (fidget). So, yeah, generally they have been getting better, but I've noticed lately that any time I'm like bored or disinterested or relaxed (Fiji), any time (Fiji) I'm not really doing anything or focusing on anything, they.... (fidget) They just sort of blow up, I guess, and I end up squirming everywhere and..
I don't know (frigid). In that sense, they have been kind of bad lately. It's weird (frigid). Tourette's is very, like, up and down and up and down. It's a bit of a rollercoaster. I think someone commented on my last video that I shouldn't like edit my tics out.
They thought I was editing my tics out just because they weren't as prominent in the video (fidget). Which, I don't blame them. It did kind of look, compared to my other videos, like I edited them out. But I think, generally, when I'm, you know, talking to a camera (fidget) and I'm focusing on communicating a message, then my vocal tics are a lot better lately and because of the Habit Reversal Therapy, they used to interrupt (fidget) my speech a lot more.
That was kind of perfect timing. I don't know if I should do a video showing my tics, how they are naturally. Like when I'm not talking or focusing on anything and I'm just like scrolling through Facebook. I've been kind of opposed to doing a video like that in the past because I don't want people viewing this channel as sort of like a freak show and I don't want...um... I don't think I wanted to showcase my tics (frigid) because I didn't want this to turn into like a freak show sort of thing where it was just like the people (fidget) staring at me in the store except from behind a camera lens. Or I never wanted this channel to be like, "Oh look! I have Tourette's and my tics are super interesting and cool!" even though sometimes they sort of are.
I don't know, I just don't want the channel to be about the tics (fidget), but I do recognize lately that (fidget) when I'm talking (fidget) to a camera, they are a bit different than what they normally would be and I don't think that it shows what my tics are like in real life, I guess. I mean, right now you're seeing me when I'm sort of concentrating on talking to you and you can only see my shoulders up, so you're not really getting a full picture. So, I don't know, I might make a video like that. Might not. It just kind of depends on how I feel. I think that's all I got for you today. This is kind of a shorter update than what I was expecting (fidget), but this has just been a late night, very rambly update.
Yeah, I think that's all I've got for you guys today (fidget). Like, comment and subscribe if you want to see more of my face. I promise I'll do a video in the day with better lighting soon and yeah. I'll see you in the next video. Bye guys! (fidget).
